Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about working with Palmetto Screen Guys.

What services do you offer?
Residential and commercial door repair and replacement, windows, screen doors, patio and porch enclosure screens, window screens, sliding door repair and replacement, and blinds and plantation shutters.
Which areas do you serve?
Charleston, North Charleston, Goose Creek, Summerville, Moncks Corner, Hanahan, Ladson, Daniel Island, Mount Pleasant, Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, Folly Beach, Johns Island, Seabrook Island, Kiawah Island, Edisto Island and Wando.
What are your hours?

Can you repair a single torn screen panel?
Yes. We fix single panels, rebuild bent frames, or rescreen an entire porch or pool enclosure.
My sliding door is hard to open. Can it be fixed?
Usually. Worn rollers and dirty or damaged tracks are the most common causes, and most sliders glide again after a roller and track service.
What is no-see-um mesh?
A finer-weave screen that blocks the tiny biting gnats common near Lowcountry marshes and beaches while still letting air through.
Do you install plantation shutters and blinds?
Yes. We measure, supply and install plantation shutters and wood, faux wood, vinyl, cordless and motorized blinds, and repair existing ones.
How do I book?
Use the Book service button on any page, choose a day and a two-hour window, or call the location closest to you.
Do you offer discounts?
Our Goose Creek location offers 10% off labor for active duty military, veterans and seniors.
Do you charge for estimates?
No. Measure visits and written estimates are free anywhere in our service area, and the price we quote is the price you pay.
How fast can you get out here?
Most jobs are scheduled within 2–3 business days. Storm damage and doors that won't close get bumped up when we can.
What kind of screen should I use?
Standard fiberglass for most windows, no-see-um mesh near the water, pet-grade on doors and lower panels, and solar screen on hot west-facing rooms. We'll walk you through it on site.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — licensed and fully insured in South Carolina, and every job is backed by a one-year workmanship warranty.
Do you work on rentals and commercial buildings?
We do. Property managers, short-term rentals, restaurants with screened patios and HOA common areas are all regular work for us.
